Peruvian Universities
Peruvian Universities is the first Model United Nations team in Peru. For almost 20 years, Peruvian universities has been forging a network of more than 600 delegates from multiple universities and schools across the country by developing soft skills and knowledge about issues of global interest to compete in the most prestigious debates in the world.
Our mission is to train academically and socially responsible professional leaders committed to the collective progress of the country and diplomacy.
Our vision is to contribute, through our professional and academic training of delegates, to the development of our country and the world with equal opportunities and socioeconomic progress through dialogue, awareness and activism.
TIMELINE
2005: The creation of Círculo de Estudios de las Naciones Unidas (CENU)
2006: Prior to the first participation in a debate conference, CENU becomes the Asociación de Estudios para las Naciones Unidas (AENU), the first Peruvian team to participate in international Harvard debate conferences: Harvard National Model United Nations (HNMUN). ) in Boston, Massachusetts.
2010: With a track record of 4 participations in international conferences, AENU creates Peruvian Universities, a team where the most outstanding talent from recent participations comes together to train and represent the country.
2012: Michelle Meza and Jorge Tudela become the first Peruvians to be recognized as Best Delegates at HNMUN, 2012.
2012: Peruvian universities become the first Peruvian debate team to participate in Harvard World Model United Nations (WORLDMUN), held in Montreal Canada.
2015: Peruvian universities become the Peruvian debate team with the highest individual recognitions in HNMUN with 11 awards.
2016: Peruvian universities participate for the first time in Harvard National Model United Nations Latin America (HNMUNLA) held in Mexico City.
2017: Peruvian Universities is positioned among the best debate teams in the world, being ranked #10 in Best College Model UN Teams - World Division: International Top 20
2021: Peruvian Universities is granted the title of best small delegation at Harvard WorldMUN 2021
2022:Peruvian Universities is granted the title of Best Large Delegation at HNMUNLA for the second consecutive year after attending the conference in Panama city, Panama. This solidifies the status of the team as one of the best in the region
2024: Peruvian Universities obtains the Best Delegation Title for the fourth time in a row alongside the Outstanding Delegation title at the Harvard WorldMUN conference held in Taipei, Taiwan. These amazing achievements position Peruvian Universities as the undisputed best delegation of the region as well as one of the best teams in the entire world.
